On Call and Eternal Commandments
The Scientific Frontier of Scriptural Commandments: Part 1 - Investigating the Dynamics of Universal and Karmic Law
Law, Karma & Science
God's Commandments, whether conveyed through Christ or otherwise, are not arbitrary impositions. They are essentially the fundamental quantum physical, psychologocial and metaphysical laws governing our universe. The differences between Christ's teachings of love and those teachings of Moses of the Ten Commandments exemplify an evolution in human understanding of spiritual principles and our own alignment, or misalignment with this natural order.
Commandment Progression is evident in the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament, where Christ transformed the rigidity of Mosaic law: stoning to death, extreme judgment, and so forth.. into the civility of love, compassion, and wisdom taught throughout Christ Jesus’ entire life-example and ministry.
To fulfill Christ’s commandments isn’t to blindly obey them; it is to become and manifest their essence, integrating the Messianic commandments into one's being and actions in a way that fosters harmony within oneself and with creation in general. This integration extends beyond surface-level compliance to a deep alignment with the timeless structures of the universal laws governing our existence.
Throughout history, the expression and interpretation of divine laws have devolved, revolved, and evolved in response to humanity's changing needs and circumstances. This evolution reflects a dynamic relationship between spiritual principles and human progress, exemplified by the shift from the Old Testament's emphasis on justice and retribution to the New Testament's focus on love and compassion.
This evolution into divine laws underscores their intrinsic alignment with the highest aspirations of Spirit. Rather than being burdensome dictates, they are pathways to liberation, inviting individuals to embrace a higher standard of righteousness rooted in love, compassion, and wisdom.
Let’s review how these laws have evolved or have been expressed differently over time for the benefit of humanity. This evolution is exemplified in how Christ changed the brutality of the Old Testament Laws into the commandments of love, compassion, and wisdom in the New Testament.
As Jesus himself stated, "I have not come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it"
~ Matthew 5:17.
Throughout history, the expression and interpretation of divine laws have evolved in response to the changing needs and circumstances of humanity. This evolutionary process reflects a dynamic relationship between spiritual principles and human progress, as exemplified by the transition from the Old Testament to the New Testament in Christian theology.
In the Old Testament, the laws given to the Israelites were characterized by a strict moral code and a system of justice that often emphasized retribution and punishment. However, with the advent of Jesus Christ, a profound shift occurred in the understanding and application of these laws.
In fulfilling the law, Jesus exemplified a paradigm shift from the rigidity of legalistic observance to the transformative power of love, compassion, and wisdom. Through his teachings and actions, he demonstrated a new way of interpreting and embodying divine principles, emphasizing the importance of mercy, forgiveness, and true social justice.
For further example, the Old Testament law prescribed
"an eye for an eye"
as a principle of justice, Jesus advocated for turning the other cheek and practicing non-violence as a means of reconciliation and healing. Similarly, while the Old Testament law emphasized external rituals and sacrifices, Jesus emphasized the inward transformation of the heart as the true essence of spiritual fulfillment.
This evolution in the expression of divine laws reflects a deeper understanding of their purpose and significance in promoting human flourishing. Rather than a religion that feels more like being bound to a legal contract, Jesus invited his followers to embrace and be freed by a higher standard of righteousness rooted in humility, divine love, compassion, friendship, understanding, and deeper insights of the universe.
Briefly Exploring Karma Through the Lens of Quantum Physics
Karma embodies the idea of cause and effect, wherein actions influence future experiences and outcomes. In this we understand Karma from the perspective of quantum physics, moving into the intricate interplay between intention, action, and consequence. We begin by introducing the foundational principles of quantum mechanics, highlighting its probabilistic nature and the role of uncertainty in shaping the behavior of subatomic particles. Quantum theory challenges the deterministic worldview of classical physics, offering insights into the unpredictable nature of reality and the inherent indeterminacy of quantum events also operating through Karma. Expanding our inquiry, we explore the role of collective consciousness in shaping karmic dynamics through understanding the microcosm of atomic effects on a conscious level; but even more intriguing are the effects of our consciousness upon the subatomic level. Just as individual actions influence personal Karma, collective intentions and behaviors contribute to the collective karmic and atomic structure of society.
Results serve as vital mechanisms for understanding the shaping of human behavior, creation, and maintaining order. They provide a framework of accountability, wherein individuals are held responsible for their actions and are faced with the repercussions of their choices—Whether in the form of legal penalties, social sanctions, as from marriage, or personal consequences, from those single, the prospect of facing the outcomes of one's actions acts as a window into the order of creation and how everything really flows and works.
Moreover, it is also sometimes strange how these consequences do or do not serve this feedback mechanism, providing or ignoring valuable information. For instance, some will still play with fire even though they have been burned many times. Through experiencing the results of their choices individuals more or less gain insights into the consequences of their behavior, allowing themselves and others to make more informed decisions in the future—This process of feedback and learning is essential for personal growth and moral development, as it enables individuals to cultivate greater Self-awareness and empathy towards others.
Some individuals that are deprived of this feedback loop, are self-lead to a lack of accountability and moral responsibility. Without the prospect of facing repercussions for human actions, those individuals may feel emboldened to engage in behavior that disregards the well-being of others or violates societal norms—In the absence of consequences, ignorant individuals often find themselves in a realm where actions seemingly exist without repercussions or accountability. This scenario, though hypothetical in context, allows for an exploration of human behavior stripped of the usual checks and balances that consequences or Karma provides.
Inner-lawlessness brings forth an apathy toward adhering to the very fabric and structure of creation, society, and all of our personal values diminishes. Laws and consequences serve as a deterrent, encouraging individuals to act in accordance with established rules and moral principles to avoid undesirable outcomes. In their absence, the incentive to uphold these standards diminishes, potentially leading to a breakdown in social order and ethical conduct.
These inner-outlaws can foster a sense of impunity and entitlement. When individuals believe they can act without facing any negative repercussions, they may feel emboldened to prioritize their own desires and interests over the well-being of others or the broader community. This can lead to selfish behavior, exploitation, and disregard for the rights and needs of others.
Furthermore, without consequences (from a purely energetic and scientific standpoint) there is no mechanism for learning and growth through feedback. Effects provide valuable information about the outcomes of our actions, enabling us to adjust our behavior and make more informed decisions in the future. Without this feedback loop, individuals may remain unaware of the impact of their actions on themselves and others, hindering personal development and moral understanding.
In the complete absence of ‘the law of effects’ or Karma, the concept of accountability loses its meaning. Accountability is rooted in the idea that individuals are responsible for the consequences of their actions and must answer for their behavior. Without consequences to hold individuals accountable, there is little incentive to act responsibly or consider the broader implications of one's actions.
The absence of choice within a community can lead to a gradual erosion of trust and cooperation, both of which are vital for maintaining a state of balance and stability, known as homeostasis. When individuals and atoms feel deprived of agency or the ability to make meaningful decisions that affect our lives, it can breed resentment, frustration, and a sense of disempowerment.
Choice serves as a fundamental aspect of autonomy and self-determination, allowing individuals to express their preferences, values, and desires. When this freedom is restricted or eliminated, it can create feelings of alienation and disenfranchisement among communities. They may perceive themselves as mere subjects of authority rather than active participants in understanding their own destinies.
Trust is built on mutual respect, transparency, and the belief that individuals have each other's best interests at heart. When decisions are imposed without consideration for the input or consent of community members, it can erode trust in the governing institutions or leadership.
Cooperation, essential for the smooth functioning of any community, relies on a shared sense of purpose and mutual understanding among its members. When individuals feel that their voices are not heard or valued, they may become reluctant to collaborate with others or contribute to collective efforts. This breakdown in cooperation can impede progress, hinder problem-solving, and ultimately threaten the overall well-being of the community.
Effects provide a sense of understanding, justice, and fairness, ensuring that individuals are able to see the proper course to take, of if they need to be held accountable for their actions etc... Without this assurance, trust in social bonds may weaken, leading to a breakdown in cooperation and cohesion.
An absence of understanding these cosmic laws or consequences creates a vacuum in which ethical conduct, personal responsibility, and social order are compromised. While this scenario may seem purely theoretical, it underscores the essential role that consequences play through reality in shaping human behavior, maintaining societal structures, and upholding moral values.
The perception of God's laws can also evoke feelings of suppression or rebellion in those who resist or struggle to align themselves with higher principles. For some, the awareness of divine standards may elicit a sense of inadequacy or immediate defiance, leading them to reject or rebel against superior values or choices that they perceive as constraining their freedom or autonomy.
It's essential to recognize that the perceived suppression arising from awareness of divine laws may stem from a misunderstanding or misinterpretation of their purpose. Rather than imposing arbitrary restrictions, these laws are intended to guide individuals towards greater fulfillment, inner peace, and spiritual growth. Embracing these principles can lead to liberation, as one aligns themselves with the transcendent order of the universe and experiences the transformative power of divine grace.
In essence, the recognition of God's laws serves as a beacon of guidance and wisdom, offering a framework for ethical living and harmonious coexistence. While the prospect of consequences may deter some from straying from the path of righteousness, the true essence of fulfilling divine commandments lies in the profound realization of their intrinsic alignment with the highest aspirations of the human spirit.
Romans 7:7 reflects on the tension between human nature, the human laws serving to be legislated in harmony with divine laws, and divine law, stating, "What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, 'You shall not covet.'"
This passage may also highlight the role of divine law in revealing the moral standards by which humanity is called to live under very basic principles. While the awareness of these principles may initially evoke feelings of inadequacy, or even rebellion, they ultimately serve as a guide for righteous living.
"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path"
Here, the psalmist acknowledges the transformative power of God's word in illuminating the way forward. Rather than viewing divine laws as oppressive or constraining, the psalmist sees them as a source of guidance and wisdom, leading to a life of greater fulfillment and purpose.
Jesus himself addressed the relationship between divine law and human freedom in John 8:32, saying, "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." In this statement, Jesus emphasizes the liberating power of truth, which is found in aligning oneself with divine principles. While some may perceive adherence to God's laws as limiting, Jesus teaches that true freedom is found in embracing these principles and living in accordance with divine truth.
Additionally, in James 1:25 encourages believers to act upon the teachings of Scripture, stating, "But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing" Here, James emphasizes the dynamic nature of divine law, which is not meant to suppress but to liberate and bless those who faithfully follow its precepts.
Let's Explore Acknowledging God's Laws and The Implications
The acknowledgment of God's laws can reveal complex emotions, ranging from acceptance to resistance, depending on one's perspective and understanding.
"What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, 'You shall not covet.'"
Paul is also emphasizing the role of the law in revealing human sinfulness and moral shortcomings. It is through love, understanding our choices, and faith that we may overcome those shortcomings.
Paul begins by posing a rhetorical question, "What then shall we say? That the law is sin?" Paul immediately refutes this suggestion with a resounding "By no means!" indicating that the law or Karma itself is not sinful.
Instead, Paul highlights the function of the law as a moral standard that defines sin. He acknowledges that without the law, individuals would not have a clear understanding of what constitutes sin. He illustrates this point by referencing the Tenth Commandment, "You shall not covet." Paul explains that he would not have recognized the sin of coveting if it were not for the law explicitly stating so.
Essentially, Paul is emphasizing that the law serves as a mirror that reflects human sinfulness, exposing our disobedience and need for redemption. Without the law, individuals may remain ignorant of their sinful nature and the need for repentance and forgiveness. Thus, Paul's emphasis underscores the indispensable role of the law in shaping our understanding of sin and guiding us towards righteousness.
However, for some individuals, the awareness of divine standards may evoke feelings of inadequacy or rebellion. This tension between human nature and divine law is again echoed in—
"For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am of the flesh, sold under sin. For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate."
~Paul 7:14-25
This inner conflict highlights the struggle that many face in aligning themselves with higher principles, as human frailty often leads to disobedience and moral shortcomings.
Yet, it's crucial to recognize that divine laws are not intended to suppress or oppress, but to guide humanity towards greater fulfillment and spiritual growth. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." ~ Psalm 105-119, here the psalmist acknowledges the illuminating power of God's word, which provides direction and clarity amidst life's uncertainties.
Moreover, Jesus addressed the relationship between divine law and human freedom in John 8:32, proclaiming, "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." Jesus emphasizes that true freedom is found in aligning oneself with divine truth, rather than being enslaved by sin and disobedience.
Believers are encouraged to act upon the commandments, laws, and teachings of Scripture, with James stating, "But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing." ~ James 1:25. This highlights the dynamic nature of divine law, which offers true freedom and blessing to those who faithfully follow its precepts.
To conclude, while the acknowledgment of God's laws may stir various emotions and reactions, a deeper understanding reveals their purpose: to guide humanity towards God, Christ, love, righteousness, freedom, and God’s blessings. By embracing these principles with humility and obedience, believers can experience the transformative power of divine grace and live lives of faith and fulfilling purpose.
